Two large-scale hydropower projects of the National Energy Group have achieved simultaneous closure
Recently, the National Energy Group’s Dadu River Zhenba Level 2 Hydropower Station, The Shaping I Hydropower Station successfully realized the simultaneous closure of the cofferdams, setting a domestic record for simultaneous closure of two large-scale cascade hydropower projects in the same basin, and making useful explorations for the development of hydropower projects in my country.
The two hydropower projects of Dadu River Zhenba Level 2 and Shaping Level 1 are located in Jinkouhe District, Youshan City, under the Dadu River. They are key construction projects of Sichuan Province’s “14th Five-Year Plan”. The total installed capacity of the Zhenzhuiba II hydropower station is 300 MW and the Shaping I hydropower station is 360 MW. After being put into operation, they can save more than 1 million tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 2 million tons every year. The two large hydropower stations have achieved important milestones such as simultaneous approval, simultaneous start of construction, simultaneous closure of the first-phase cofferdam, and simultaneous closure of the second phase. This simultaneous closure marks the transfer of the construction of the two projects to the main body of the second phase dam and plant. The construction stage of the project has created conditions for the first unit to be put into operation for power generation in 2025.

Hudong-Zhonghua delivered my country’s first large-scale ship this year LNG carrier
On March 24, Hudong-China United CSSC Trading, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, built the third 174,000 cubic meter LNG carrier for the COSCO Shipping PetroChina National LNG Transportation Project. The large-scale liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier "Kunlun" was named and delivered one month ahead of schedule at the China Shipbuilding Changxing Shipbuilding Base. This is the first large LNG carrier delivered by my country this year.
"Kunlun" is a mainstream large-scale LNG carrier in the world today. It was independently developed and designed by Hudong Zhonghua and has complete intellectual property rights. The ship has a total length of 295 meters, a molded width of 45 meters, a molded depth of 26.25 meters, and a speed of 19.5 knots. China’s first solid-state hydrogen energy storage and hydrogenation station was built in Guangzhou< /strong>
Recently, China Southern Power Grid Guangdong Guangzhou Power Supply Bureau completed the construction of the Xiaohudao Hydrogen Smart Energy Station (hereinafter referred to as the "Energy Station") in Nansha, Guangzhou. The station is a demonstration project of a national key research and development plan project. It is also the first grid-side energy storage hydrogenation station in China that applies solid-state hydrogen storage and supply technology. It realizes hydrogen production from water electrolysis, to solid-state hydrogen storage, and then to hydrogenation. Fuel cell power generation and surplus power are connected to the grid, and the integration of hydrogen and electricity accelerates the construction of a new power system.
The core technologies and devices used in the energy station are all domestically produced, and the volumetric hydrogen storage density index of the core unit of the solid-state hydrogen storage device has reached the leading domestic level. Not only that, the solid-state hydrogen storage device can replace the hydrogen compressor, high-pressure storage tank and purification system in traditional hydrogenation stations, saving more than 2 million yuan in single-station construction costs.

On March 28, 2023, Ningxia Electric Power Construction successfully won the bid for Section I of the State Power Investment Corporation Tongliao 2×350MW smart cogeneration unit PC general contracting project— —The general contracting project for the construction, installation and construction of Unit 6 and some public systems. This is a thermal power construction project with relatively complete professional categories undertaken by Ningxia Electric Power Construction in recent years and with unit performance reaching the national advanced level.
The project is located at Tongliao Power Plant, Dianchan Street, Economic and Technological Development Zone, Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The project plans to expand two 350MW smart cogeneration units at the expansion end of the original 1×600MW unit. The project is tentatively scheduled to officially start on April 10, 2023, with a total construction period of 20 months. It is planned to achieve the 168-hour trial operation of Unit 6 by November 30, 2024.
