Cement mortar is a water mixture of cement + sand. It is the most traditional and very common decoration bonding material in construction sites. The ratio of cement to sand is between 1:2 and 1:3.

The method of laying cement mortar on the ground is generally to spread 2-3 cm of dry slurry on the ground, then evenly scrape 1-2 cm of wet slurry on the back of the tiles, and then assemble and tap it firmly.
When paved in this way, the thickness of the cement mortar is about 3-5 centimeters, plus the thickness of the ceramic tiles, it is at least 4 centimeters thick, which is a waste of space.

In addition, cement mortar can also be used for leveling walls and floors (lime is usually added to increase the viscosity), or building walls, so even if tile adhesive is used for paving, cement and fine sand are indispensable.

The construction of tile adhesive is similar to that of cement mortar. Relatively speaking, tile adhesive can be prepared by directly adding water with a seasoning bucket, which is simple, fast and clean.

The construction method of tile adhesive is to use a square-toothed ash knife to scrape out 1cm thick tooth-like stripes on the base surface and back of the tile from the mixed tile adhesive, and then tap them firmly. The paving thickness of tile adhesive generally does not exceed 3 cm, which saves more space than cement mortar.

In terms of price, the current tile adhesive is not very expensive. A bag of 20 kilograms costs about 30-60 yuan (prices vary depending on the adhesive strength). Generally, one that costs more than 40 yuan is enough. On average, it costs 30-60 yuan per bag. It only costs a few dollars more per square meter than cement mortar, so it is recommended to use tile adhesive for laying tiles.
Back glue, also called ceramic tile interface agent or back glue, is a material that is applied to the back of ceramic tiles or construction base surfaces to strengthen the adhesion of ceramic tiles and reduce water absorption. It can be simply understood as applying a layer of glue. , so that the back of the ceramic tile and the base surface can be better bonded. It is used to assist in paving. In addition, cement mortar or tile adhesive is also needed.

Marble glue is actually a kind of resin glue. The main component of commonly used AB component marble glue is epoxy resin glue. This resin glue is the raw material of high-strength glue, so marble glue also has resin Advantages of glue: high bonding strength, fast curing speed, high toughness, etc.
Unlike other adhesives, marble glue can be mixed with stone powder and colorants to create different patterns and colors. Therefore, marble glue is more suitable for bonding materials, such as stones and ceramic tiles at home that have fallen off. , can be re-glued with marble glue, and cracked stone or ceramic tiles can be repaired with marble glue. In the later stage of decoration, we make various countertops, special-shaped lines, etc., and we often use marble glue to bond them.

Although marble glue can also be used to lay ceramic tiles or stones, marble glue is prone to aging and will generally break down in three to five years, especially when exposed to humidity and temperature differences.If used in large (such as outdoor) places, it will age faster, so it is not recommended to use marble glue as the main paving material.
